Enamelware is a mild steel base with a coating of "Porcelian Enamel" this coating protects the base from corrosion and make it resistant to organic solvents.  It has a high abrasion resistance and is not effected in any way by UV light.  It is resistant to thermal shock and can cope with temperatures up to 500oC.
